Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd.
Through CSR activities carried out routinely by all the employees to contribute to the creation of a secure, safe and sustainable future, TMNF aims to be a "Good Company" that is trusted by the people and society. To solve issues such as climate change and natural disasters, Japan's declining birthrate and aging population, etc. TMNF is providing insurance products and services for safety and security, conducting environmental protection activities such as the Mangrove Planting Project and the Green Gift Project, and enlightening education programs such as Green Lessons and Disaster Prevention Lessons, through dialogue and cooperation with its stakeholders.
Nisshin Fire & Marine Insurance Co., Ltd. (in Japanese)
NF is implementing initiatives for harmonization with the community and society. As one of such initiatives, a charity event for orphans of car accidents has been held every year since 2008. At the events, NF raises money from its employees and the public, and in return, the donors can select whatever they like from a collection of used books and music CDs donated by NF employees. NF's Tokyo headquarters is located in Ochanomizu area, where there are many music stores and adjacent to a famous book store district. The event is well designed taking advantage of these features of the location.
Tokio Marine & Nichido Life Insurance Co., Ltd. (in Japanese)
Through a non-profit organization J.POSH, TMNL is conducting street campaigns for the Pink Ribbon Movement at around its offices across Japan to communicate the importance of the early detection of breast cancer. Also, the company has joined in with the Iwate Hospice Association, a citizens' group in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, in supporting cancer patients and their families. To help them gain courage to fight against the disease, the company has been making terry cloth caps for patients undergoing cancer chemotherapy, and through the Association, donate more than 1,000 caps every year to cancer hospitals nationwide.
E.design Insurance Co.,Ltd. (in Japanese)
Taking advantage of its feature as a direct non-life insurance company that provides services via the Internet, E.design is promoting paperless operations such as the acceptance of insurance applications via PC or smartphone, and the promotion of e-Policy Discount (offering a 500 yen premium discount when customers select web policies instead of paper policies). The company is promoting an eco-friendly business model with minimum paper use.
Tokio Marine Millea SAST Insurance Co., Ltd. (in Japanese)
In order to pass down the important greenery to future generations, Millea SAST is continuously implementing activities for global environmental protection such as the promotion of web policy, and a project to plant tree saplings in Meguri's Forest in Shonan Village, Kanagawa Prefecture. Other activities include cleanup activities in the neighborhoods around its Yokohama headquarters, participation in Ashinaga charity walk "P-Walk 10," and donations utilized by the Matching Gift System. The company is also working to establish a routine for a comfortable work environment through supporting its employees to achieve a better work-life balance.
Tokio Marine West SAST Insurance Co., Ltd. (in Japanese)
West SAST is implementing CSR activities in cooperation with Millea SAST. As a part of its social contribution activities, the company participated in Ashinaga charity walk "P-Walk 10" in November 2014 to support orphans. The participants, together with their colleagues and families, started at Kamakura Kaihin Park and walked 10 kilometers through Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and the Great Buddha at Kamakura. The event offered a great opportunity for the employees to gain a deeper understanding of the issues faced by orphans in Japan and around the world.

TMN Facilities is offering a broad range of facility services for user comfort, including cleaning, operation, and maintenance of buildings and equipments. With the spirit of "making a concerted effort by all the employees" ingrained in its corporate culture, the company works to contribute to the local communities and society mainly through the regular cleanup activities in the neighborhoods around the properties under its service. The company strives to further improve its quality through producing a good corporate citizenship mind that broadly contributes to the local community and society as a good member of a society.
Tokio Marine Business Support Co., Ltd. (in Japanese)
To promote the employment of disabled persons mainly with intellectual and developmental disabilities who did not have much employment opportunities previously, TMBS was established in 2010 and was approved as to be a special subsidiary* for the first time in the non-life insurance industry. Currently, more than 100 employees with disabilities are working at the Tokyo headquarters and Nagoya, Osaka and Kyushu branch offices. These employees are supporting the group companies by performing operations such as data input and processing, document shipping and printing, confidential documents collection and their shredding by wet-type shredders.

Under the slogan of "Be always a society-friendly company," TMNS is implementing various CSR activities that are unique to the company, on a company-wide basis. In Tama city where its headquarters is located, the company is steadily performing local activities including: 1) planning and carrying out variety of CSR activities in collaboration with Tama City Council of Social Welfare, 2) organizing volunteer tours to the disaster regions and conducting support activities at its business bases to support the restoration form the earthquake disaster, and 3) participating in community cleanup activities and local charity events. In this manner, the company is steadily helping the local communities.

In the face of major changes in the frequency and severity of natural disasters due to climate change, basing risk assessment only on past statistical data may significantly impact the calculation of appropriate insurance premiums and the ability to pay insurance claims in the event of a mega disaster. In response, Tokio Marine Research Institute is advancing research into future natural disaster risks in cooperation with universities. We aim to further contribute to the society by utilizing our research for developing and providing products and services as well as by disseminating information.

Philadelphia Consolidated Holding Corp.
Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY) has a long-standing tradition of helping local communities by supporting charitable organizations such as the Challenged Athletes Foundation, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Through TEAMPHLY initiatives, employees dedicate over 7,000 volunteer hours each year and have raised more than $14 million dollars since 1980. GREENPHLY's Environmental Plan focuses on carbon footprint reduction, environmental education and awareness, and community outreach. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) presented PHLY with a 2014 Green Power Leadership Award for the company's commitment to buying green power and reducing carbon pollution.

Safety National recognizes the importance of being a civic-minded business partner to help strengthen the communities in which we work and live, enthusiastically embracing corporate social responsibility and encouraging all employees to join in. We offer an annual Safety National Day of Service, whereby employees volunteer at various agencies such as St. Louis Area Foodbank and St. Vincent Home for Children. Throughout the year we volunteer our time at many events like the Komen Race and Special Olympics, and collect charitable donations on First Friday Jeans Days. With a corporate philosophy of "B.E.S.T (Brand-new, Efficiency, Safety, Top)," TMNewa has been actively engaged in CSR activities since its establishment, to create a society where each and everyone can live with a sense of security. Such efforts include a traffic safe guard service to keep traffic safety of community students and introduction of paperless internal meetings. In recent years, the company started a series of drunk driving prevention activities through campaigns on the street or charity basketball games, and by offering an insurance product related to substitute driving service when the customer consumes alcohol. TMNewa continues to work for creation of a safe and secure society.
